Appointment system

GP telephone consultations, for all 3 practices, can be requested daily from: 8am to 11:30am ONLY or until all appointment slots are booked.  Any requests after this time will be dealt with on an urgent clinical need only.

Our reception team are fully trained in care navigation and can direct your requests where appropriate. Sometimes it may be more appropriate for you to see another healthcare professional, such as a Physiotherapist, Mental Health Practitioner, Practice Nurse or Social Worker.

Our phone first policy still applies. However, a GP may request a face-to-face consultation with you.

In this instance, your GP will make arrangements with you during your initial telephone consultation and provide you with a time to attend the surgery.

Access to the surgery is only for patients who have been requested to attend by clinical staff.

This review of our booking system is in response to the huge demand on our service recently.  Our intention, with your co-operation, is to enhance patient accessibility to primary care services.

Telephone advice

Except in emergencies, we prefer the doctor not to be interrupted during surgery. If the receptionist is unable to answer your query we can arrange for the doctor to contact you should this be necessary.

Home visits

Requests for a home visit should be made before 10.30am. Details of the patient's condition must be given to the receptionist so that the doctor can assess the urgency of any visit. Home visits must only be requested when a patient is unfit to attend the surgery.

Pharmacy First

Did you know, your local pharmacy can help with a number of conditions and prescribe antibiotics where appropriate. Including, Sore Throats & UTI's

GP Training

Medical students and Nursing students attend the practice from time to time. We hope that you will co-operate with us and help the students to learn about general practice. However, you will be informed of their presence in advance, and if you do not want them to be present at a consultation, your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way.
